News & Updates
Dear RCSD Community,
As a reminder, next week is a short week due to Thanksgiving, and I will not be sending out a community update next Friday. Schools will be dismissing early and there is no lunch service on Wednesday, November 22: dismissal is at 11:00 a.m. for RHS and RMS and 11:30 a.m. for the elementary schools. Schools and offices are closed on Thursday and Friday.
New and Improved Website
The new RCSD website has officially launched! I recognize it will take some getting used to (for all of us!), but I think it will be a big improvement both in terms of usability and appearance. We will be producing little instructional snippets and pushing them out each Wednesday via social media and on the website. Please send any questions or thoughts to feedback@ryeschools.org.

December 2 at 2pm & 7pm
Dear RCSD Community,
As you (hopefully) know, there was no school today in observance of Veterans Day, so I am sending a slightly abbreviated Community Update.
Marking Veterans Day
Many and heartfelt thanks to all of the veterans near and far who have served and are serving our country. Rye American Legion Post 128 is holding its annual Veterans Day observance tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. on the Village Green (the event will move indoors to City Hall in case of rain). Post Commander Fred de Barros will welcome guests before turning the mic over to local elected officials for remarks. Mayor Josh Cohn, County Executive George Latimer, and Assemblyman Steve Otis are speaking. Legionnaires and members of the Rye Sons of American Legion will read the intertwined story of two Rye veterans, Charles Moxhay and Elliott Eakin (both RHS graduates), who flew a B-17 together as members of the US Army Air Corps 8th Air Force in WWII.

Dear RCSD Community,
As a reminder, we have a short week next week. There is no school for students on Tuesday, November 7: Election Day. Voting will be taking place at the RMS gym and teachers, staff, and administrators will be attending Superintendent’s Conference Day at the High School and Osborn School. Our faculty and staff will spend the day learning and planning across a variety of content areas with a focus on critical thinking.
There is no school for students or faculty and staff on Friday, November 10, and school offices are closed in observance of Veterans Day. We are going to have to pack a lot into three short days, folks!
