Digital map of the 5 Rye City School District schools and other area attractions

Dear RCSD Community,

Happy Groundhog Day! As you may know, I think about the weather quite often. I have a tide chart posted in my office and in my kitchen at home. I subscribe to a variety of weather forecasting services and I follow a number of well-known meteorologists on social media. In addition, I rely on Rye resident and newsman Dave Manney to connect me with Storm Team 4 at NBC News from time to time. Even with all the outside support and my Magic 8 Ball, I need more assistance. I am pleased to share that, after several weeks of intense negotiations with Westchester County Executive George Latimer and his team, Cluxatawney Henrietta, the Muscoot Farm weather chicken, will now be one of my weather consultants. A recent press release from the County Executive stated, “This agreement will provide the Rye City School District with critical support in weather forecasting. Nobody is a better forecaster than Henrietta. While the negotiations were challenging, I am pleased that we reached an agreement.”

Happily, Henrietta laid an egg this morning, signaling an early spring!

I'm for that!
